For Homecoming this year, we have a service and water communion, a potluck, and a fundraising concert.
During our September 7th Homecoming Service, Rev. Alyssa will again hold a water communion ritual. Please bring a small amount of water from someplace that is special to you. It can be from your summer travels, your backyard, or even a faucet. If you have a picture of the place where you collected the water, send it to office@uucwnc.org if you would like it included in the slideshow during the service.
After the service, our Hospitality Team is planning a brunch with crepes (sweet and savory) with several fillings, ham, sides, and desserts. Vegetarian, Vegan, and Gluten Free choices will be provided. If you can contribute a side or dessert, or help with set up or cleanup, please contact our hospitality team at hospitality@uucwnc.org.
After the potluck will be a concert at 1:00pm featuring Mike Hensen with the band String Break. The Durham-based band performs bluegrass, folk, rock, and Americana and cover the Eagles, Buffalo Springfield, the Grateful Dead, Steve Earle and even the Rolling Sones, the Beatles and Led Zeppelin! Suggested ticket price is $20 or whatever you can afford.
